home sweet home!!

This weekend we went back to shreveport, Carson had a great time spending the days with his paw paw and pou pou.He took paw paw to shogun for fathers day.

He was amazed by it all. He was on his best behavior! Mom and dad watched carson all day saturday, chad and I went to see the movie grown ups, went to the casino (lost all our money), went shopping at the boardwalk and then went back to eat at the casino. We were home by 9:30...how crazy is that?!! it was past our bedtime!!

Carson did well on the trip..sleeping most of the time. That will be the last trip to shreveport with just the 3 of us...next time Katie will be with us as well. Its hard to believe! I cant believe I have only 7 more weeks to go. The house is still a wreck, I have no where to put my stuff and I dont even want to start straightening the pantry!! That could take forever. On another note, Carson is doing so well with the potty. Today he told me he needed to potty and he took off his pants and diaper and used the big boy potty!! I couldnt believe it, he is sooo close. He is getting so big so fast. he still is having a problem staying asleep in his bed, he is still getting up and sleeping on the floor right by the door. Carson has also been sucking his thumb a lot, I think I might have to put that stuff on his thumb to make him stop soon. Hope it works.

i know its about time...

So, I am 30 weeks prego and I know its got to be getting close to having the baby...I am out of breath with just walking up one flight of stairs...tired all the time now and in this week the good ole heartburn is starting to return. I now have a lot more respect for mothers who are pregnant during the summer time...I mean, what were we thinking?!!! I finally finished the picture album of our florida vacation, but I still have to organize all the pictures in the office that is currently on the floor...it looks like a tornado hit that room. So much to do, so little time!!

celebrating 4 years of marriage!!!

Well, another eventful weekend!! This past week chad and I celebrated our 4th year of marriage. I bought him tickets to see the musical wicked which we saw on saturday and it was SO good. Chad also took me to my favorite restaurant- the melting pot for dinner. And on top of it all- christine and eric babysat carson so we could enjoy the night out. How awesome is that. After the musical, chad and i were already pooped- it was definitely passed our bedtime! I dont know how we stayed out so late in the good ole days before kids.

well, we did have to wake up extra early for our garage sale where we ended up making $162- not bad for stuff we didnt want.

Chad woke up early today on fathers day to go for a 50 mile bike ride. Too bad the cannondale bib that carson bought him didnt come in on time for him to use it today. Then we went to Diana's house to hang out and to go swimming. It was the first time I got in the pool this summer and awww was it refreshing. We ran out of swimming diapers so I stuck a regular diaper on carson- boy can that diaper hold a lot of water...he could barely walk with all the extra weight that I decided to take it off!! But carson loves loves loves the water...too bad i cant stay out in the sun long enough for him!

such an adventurous weekend!!! Sleepover and wedding??!!

ok ok ok...so it wasnt quite a sleepover... Carson went to hang out with his best friend matthew's house for a few hours which included their bedtime! We werent sure if carson was going to be able to go to sleep...but after marvin and amy put on puppet shows, sang songs and read books to them...they were finally able to go to sleep...not immediately - there were giggles and lots of chattering going on but when chad and I went to pick carson up, he was passed out!! It seemed like carson had a great time hanging out with his buddy!

Tracy's wedding was today, and Carson was informed to be on standby for ring bearer... and so he ended up being the ring bearer and ran all the way down the aisle into his daddy's arms.

Carson had a great time at the wedding, he was able to drink soda, eat candy and even stay out late dancing it up with his 7 months pregnant mommy!!:P

He was totally pooped by the time it was over that he fell asleep on the way home. Too bad he got his second wind when we got home!

What a big boy!!!

boy oh boy...I love carson at this age. He can understand us and we can understand him! He is talking more and more everyday. He has adapted well to his new bed. He goes to sleep without crying. we do crack the door so he wont freak out when he wakes up. He usually wakes up around 6:30 now and comes into our room and lays with us for a few minutes before he tries to wake us up....UP mommy...MOMMY UP UP. or he will tell chad...daddy eat...EAT. Its cute to see carson following chad to the bathroom and get ready for work...he just watches intently to everything that chad does. He adores his daddy and chad says...that carson is "freaking awesome". Which I have to agree with chad...carson is such a good kid. This morning when I was walking down the stairs with him to get him breakfast...he stops and looks up at me and said.."I love you". It was such a cute moment. He is starting to be more independent and doesnt need me to be by his side all the time to play. He likes to read, play with puzzles and play with his trains. and he loves all the girls!!

A brand new bunk bed for a big boy!!!!

After much thought and "talking"....chad and I decided it was time to get carson a new bed. I wanted to get him a full size bed- chad wanted to get him a twin size bed. In the end he got a bunk bed. But for right now we are using the top bunk for carson since it has the side rails already attached. Once he learns how not to move around so much then he will get an additional bunk bed put on.

Carson was so excited to be getting a new bed. He was even more excited to be able to help daddy put it together.

After 2 hours of hard work, Carson successfully took his afternoon nap in his BRAND NEW BED!!!

However, right now its 9pm when carson's normal bedtime is 7:30pm. He is still wide awake and crying that he doesnt want to sleep in his bed. Boy does Chad have his work cut out for him this week to train carson to sleep in his bed without getting up!

After Carson's nap, we went to visit nin-nin for Papa D's birthday! I made a carrot cake for him and it was delicious and moist!!! Carson was swimming the whole time we were there. He loved the water and was fearless on the water slide! He had a blast!!

And to top the day off...his auntie Christine came over to visit and he had fun chasing her around the house and dancing the night away!

san antonio -memorial day weekend

SAN ANTONIO- MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
Well, we wanted to go on one last family outing with just the 3 of us, we wanted to have a little fun with just carson...before the little girl comes along in august. It was a great time! The drive wasnt so bad at all. carson was sleeping for a good part of it. The first day we got into san antonio around 5ish. We stayed at the Emily Morgan Hotel, which was really nice. It was located right next door to the alamo and 2 blocks from the riverwalk.

We went to eat dinner at a mexican restaurant on the riverwalk and the Carson had a blast listening to the band. Daddy even paid them $10 for them to play one song for carson. He was dancing and all smiles!

The next day we went to Sea World...Carson really got into the show, compared to just a month ago at florida. He got excited when he saw the whales jump out of the water. We didnt really ride many rides there, but there was a water park there as well and Daddy and Carson played and splashed in the the wave pool and the water slides.

Carson really liked the water, even though he went under water at times...he didnt want to leave the water park. He kept trying to run away from us and jump in the pool. They played at the water park for 2 hours in the scorching hot!! It was close to 100 degrees outside!!

I being 7 months pregnant felt like a beached whale...trying to hide in the shade. Boy, I was sweating out of every pore on my body!! Carson and Daddy were worn out and we went to the hotel to take a nap before meeting up with Chad's buddy victor. On Sunday we went to the outlet mall in san marcos!! That was mommy's favorite part!
